“God doesn't make mistakes. God used cancer as a wake-up call for me. And no matter the outcome, I woke up.”

About Domine Clemons

Domine Clemons grew up in a large musical family as the eighth of ten children. Her early life was steeped in music, and by the age of fourteen, she was already performing as a background vocalist for her father’s live Big Band show at the Casino da Madeira in Madeira, Portugal. After a year abroad, Domine and her family returned to the United States, settling in Naples, Florida, where she continued performing with her father across the state, singing everything from rock and roll hits to jazz.

When Domine went off to study economics on a voice scholarship, she was unexpectedly told that she had the makings of an opera singer. This revelation led her to become a member of the chamber choir and study under the private vocal instruction of Melissa Osmond. After graduating in 2020, Domine began working and public speaking in the corporate world. However, she quickly realized that something was missing. Feeling unfulfilled and burnt out, she made the life-changing decision in 2023 to pursue her passion for singing and performing full-time. By September 2023, Domine had established herself as a professional singer performing at churches and events across Southwest Florida. She also enjoyed singing at various churches across Southwest Florida.

But in January 2025, Domine’s life took an unexpected turn. She was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia and was given just six months to a year to live without immediate treatment. This diagnosis stopped her life in its tracks, but through this incredibly challenging chapter, Domine’s faith, resilience, and trust in God became even more powerful. She learned firsthand that surrendering her life to God’s plan brought about unexpected blessings, strength, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Now, as a cancer survivor, Domine is sharing her story through both music and testimony, using her voice to inspire others. Her journey has shown her that no matter how difficult life becomes, surrendering to God’s will allows for incredible transformation. She aims to uplift and encourage others to trust in their own journeys, embrace their dreams, and discover the beauty and light that can emerge from life’s hardest moments.

Domine hopes to continue spreading God’s light by incorporating live sacred music into her speaking engagements. Through music, she shows others that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, faith, and strength to be found.
